The Estate

The beginning

In 1272 the Abbey of San Galgano established a Village dedicated to wine production. The site was chosen for several reasons: Altitude, sandy-clay soil with deeper sandstone layers, South exposition and an extraordinary microclimate. Today Family Nenni continues this heritage.

Land of Sangalgano

We are located in Tuscany, 20 Km South of Siena, on the hills of a Natural reserve. A place dominated since 1180 by the magnificent Abbey of Sangalgano plenty of art, fine food & wine.

Castle of Frosini

The Abbey of Sangalgano

In 1180 Knight Galgano Guidotti put his sword in the stone to become a Monk and build a church. That was the beginning of a great economic development of the area that evolved in a system of specialized farms (wine, wheat, metal extraction, furnaces).

SIENA

Land of Sangalgano's history is strictly connected to Siena: with the creation of the first modern bank in 1494, Tuscany could count on stable resources and proceed with landscape shaping.
